Archived Goals

It’s a new year, and I’m excited to get started with some new ideas! Problem is, I kind of like to hang on to the old things so I can see where I was when I do reflections.

2018

Mental: I will read two financial fitness books and apply what I have learned to my personal finances so I can have a solid Get-out-of -Debt¬†plan by January 31, 2018. (Books: Dave Ramsey’s The Total Money Makeover and Financial Fitness by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward).¬† 1 Corinthians 16:2

Physical: I will lose 10 pounds, taking my weight from 146 pounds to 136 pounds, so I can feel better and teach my kids about healthy eating habits by the end of February 2018. (Books: Fast Metabolism D.I.E.T and companion cookbook).  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Spiritual: I will increase my knowledge of how to be a better coordinator for the MPact Girls Clubs by reading one spiritual leadership book by March 31, 2018 and applying at least two new skills to myself or the program. (Book: The Catalyst Leader; 8 essentials for becoming a change maker).  Jeremiah 3:15

Relationship: I will reorganize the command center in the kitchen by April 30, 2018 to help daily life be simpler and more focused so I can plan individual time with each member of the family.  It will include calendars, rules and consequences, job charts, bible study, and weekly menu. (Book: Life Management for Busy Women by Elizabeth George). Ephesians 5: 15-16

Mental: I will study a female historical figure and create a list of 10 qualities she has that I would like to develop further through future blog posts.  I will complete the list by May 31, 2018.  (Book: Joan of Arc; A Life Transfigured by Kathryn Harrison).  Proverbs 18:22

Spiritual: By June 30, 2018, I will create a prayer and devotional schedule based on my reading to improve my relationship with God. (Book: Fervent by Priscilla Shirer). Matthew 6:6

Relationship: I will learn, apply, and teach my family at least two new techniques to battle anxiety and/or depression during my hardest month: July 2018.  (Book and audio: Attacking Anxiety and Depression by Lucinda Bassett). Proverbs 12:25

Physical: I will practice yoga at least once a week (minimum 5 sessions) for a minimum of 30 minutes each session during the month of August 2018 to increase my physical fitness and maintain my current weight.  (Book: Yoga; the poetry of the body by Rodney Yee). 3 John 1:2

Mental: I will outline my plan for a 6 week Financial Book Club by December 30, 2018 and will have weeks 1 and 2 fully ready to roll out by the first week of January 2019. (Book: The Millionaire Next Door).

Spiritual: By September 30, 2018, I will create a prayer and devotional schedule based on my reading to improve my relationship with God. (Book: Fervent by Priscilla Shirer). Matthew 6:6

Relationship: By October 31, 2018, I will implement two new procedures for building better teacher/student relationships in my school classroom.  (Book: Create Your Dream Classroom by Linda Kardamis).

Physical: Using ideas presented in the book, I will organize and de-junk my “office” and playroom in order to free up time and space to exercise.  I will accomplish this by November 30, 2018.  (Book: From Pampered to Productive by Debbie Bowen).
