Review of the goal: By January 30, 2019, I will write a family value and mission statement that will direct intentional family decision making as we make family goals for the 2019 year. (Book: Living Your Legacy; change your story, impact your world, and become a visionary leader by Sharon Olson). Matthew 16:15
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit behind. Life kinda happened in January, so now I’m working on catching up on this blog, my de-junking schedule, reading for my goals, and dates with the kids.
Here is our newly crafted and family approved Mission Statement
In This Family . . .
. . . in order to form closer bonds, establish healthy relationships with other members, insure tranquility in our home, provide for the needs of each member, promote self-worth through setting and achieving goals, and to secure the Blessings promised us in the Bible,
We promise to strive to work together as we establish a lasting family legacy based on Happy, Healthy, and Safe.
- We honor Christ as the head of the household
- We are loyal to each other
- We speak the truth with kindness and love
- We keep ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually clean and healthy
I’m looking for the perfect frame for it, with the understanding that it will continue to evolve with our lives. I’m thinking it will either be hung in the upstairs hallway or in the basement family room. Either way, it calls to be surrounded by pictures of us doing life together.
Have you starting thinking about your legacy? Written a family or personal mission statement? Tell me about it!
